1. Describe TWO things that you have learnt during this lesson.

This lesson I have learnt how important group contracts are within groups. I have also learnt that the media may change stories around in ways that arent very obvious, but make the story more interesting and sometimes even biased.

2. Identify TWO areas you want to concentrate on during this project that you think need a greater improvement from the last project.

I think i need to work on my organisation in this project. Also i need to be more enthusiastic when i do my work.

3. Discuss TWO ways in which your group could resolve any disputes during this process.

One way is by communicating and finding out why the person is acting the way he is. After this if it doesnt work we may have to speak with the teachers and the student to find out other ways of resolving the problem.

Journal entry 6

1. How well did your group work?

Very well

2. Would you work with the sanme group of students again? Why?

Yes, because they do their work.

3. How much effort did you put into this project?  What could you have done better?

A lot. I could have out more bookmarks on diigo and i could have been more organised.

4. Do you think your final wikispace was your best work? Why?

Yes it was, because we put a lot of effort into it.

5. What did you think of the project when you received it? Why?

I thought it would be pretty boring. Because it seemed endless.

6. What do you think of the project now you have completed it? Why?

It was okay, but pretty boring.

7. What did you like in the project? Why?

I liked making my individual image.

8. What did you not like in the project? Why?

researching the artworks.

9. How can the teachers make your next project better?

Have nothing to do with art movements.

1. Has your image of Jesus changed during the project? How or Why not?

No, my image of Jesus has not changed throughout the project because nothing has made me change my image of Jesus.

2. What do you feel is the best way to portray an image of Jesus and why?

I think images are the best ways to portray Jesus because they give us a good image of Jesus.

3. What have you enjoyed about the project so far and what would you do differently?

Unforunately, I am finding this project farily boring because art has never really been a subject that interests me personally.

1. Objectives of the mission

The objectives of this mission are to study the history of water in the Martian Arctic and to search for evidence of a habitable zone and assess the biological potential of the ice soil boundary.

2. Mission launch including spacecraft

The spacecraft used on this mission to Mars was built by Lockheed Martan.  The spacecraft will experience extreme conditons on the way to Mars, and also during the exploration of the planet. The robotic arm is another important tool on this mission. It is used to scoop up soil and water ice samples and take them to other instuments for detailed chemical and geological analysis.

3. Currents events in the mission

NASA couldn’t send commands to the Phoenix Mars lander for most of Tuesday because of a radio glitch, delaying a second day of activities, officials said. The minor problem was fixed later in the day and the Mars Reconnaissance orbiter resumed relaying the lander’s images of the Martian landscape back to Earth, said NASA officials. Phoenix, the latest spacecraft on Mars, communicates with scientists through two NASA orbiters circling the planet.

1) What form of medium (music, art or literature ) allows you to best connect with Jesus and Why

Music best allows me to connect with Jesus because the music soothes my soul allowing me and Jesus to connect.

2) Why has Jesus been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history?

Because nobody really knows what Jesus looks like, seeing as there were no cameras back in His time, so people had through the ages had to use their imagination to paint and draw pictures of Jesus.

3) How is Jesus portrayed at Parramatta Marist?

Jesus is portrayed as a man who loves everybody and who gives strength to all.

4) What artistic time period do you think best represents your image of Jesus and why?

I think the renaissance period best represents my image of Jesus because when i think of Jesus I always remember the Last Supper.

5) Identify one image of Jesus that appeals to you. What do you like about the representation?

One image of Jesus the appeals to me is the one with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This image appeals to me because I believe it shows that Jesus’ Heart will never stop producing love for us even though Jesus was crowned with thorns and had his side pierced by a lance.

6) What factors currently shape your image of Jesus and why.

I think arworks shape my image of Jesus today because it is interesting to see the various arworks of Jesus and what they depict about him.

Journal 3 ist/re project 4

1) What words and or images come to mind when you hear the word Jesus.

  • The Sacred Heart of Jesus
  • Christ
  • Holy Spirit
  • God
  • Cruxifix
  • Mary

2) Why might it be important for young people to identify with an image of Jesus?

Because it makes it easier to believe. Without and image it may make it harder to believe.

3) Where in your life do you most associate with images of Jesus?

On my Holy Communion.

Journal 2 ist/re project 4

1. How many rubrics are there for this project?

There are three rubrics for this project.

2. Describe the purpose of the rubric?

The rubric is their as a guide for judging or scoring a description of expectation.

3. How can you use the rubric to get the best possible mark?

You can use the rubric the get the best possible marks by reading everything that you need to get and ‘A’ and fulfilling what the rubric says to do.

Journal 1 cst/ist project 4

1. List TWO problems that could occur from students selecting their own groups.

One problem which can occurr from students picking their own groups is, the students may pick their friends, knowing that they do not do much work, but still choosing them because they are friends. Another problem is that one group may have all the smarter students in one group, so the groups aren’t very even.

2. Which type of student do you think would be selected first?

I think the smarter and harder working students would be chosen first.

3. Why do you think they were selected first?

I believe these students are chosen first because they may make the studets in their group get good marks.

4. Which type of student do you was selected last?

I think the students who do no work adn are not very intellegent are chosen last.

5. What beneficial characteristics can you offer to your group?

I believe I am a hardworker and fairly intellegent.

6. List THREE things you personally would like to improve on during this project.

I would like to improve my organisation skills and IT skills

Steady State Theory-

In cosmology, the Steady State theory (also known as the Infinite Universe theory or continuous creation) is a model developed in 1948 by Fred Hoyle, Thomas Gold, Hermann Bondi and others as an alternative to the Big Bang theory (known, usually, as the standard cosmological model). In some steady state views, new matter is continuously created as the universe expands, so that the perfect cosmological principle is adhered to. Although the model had a large number of supporters among cosmologists in the 1950s and 1960s, the number of supporters decreased markedly in the late 1960s with the discovery of the cosmic microwave background radiation, and today only a very small number of supporters remain. The key importance of the steady-state model is that as a competitor to the Big Bang, it was an impetus in generating some of the most important research in astrophysics, much of which ultimately ended up supporting the Big Bang theory.

Static universe-

The idea of a static universe or “Einstein’s universe” is one which demands that space is not expanding nor contracting but rather is dynamically stable. Albert Einstein proposed such a model as his preferred cosmology by adding a cosmological constant to his equations of general relativity to counteract the dynamical effects of gravity which in a universe of matter would cause the universe to collapse. This motivation evaporated after the discovery by Edwin Hubble that the universe is not static, but expanding; in particular, Hubble discovered a relationship between redshift and distance, which forms the basis for the modern expansion paradigm. This led Einstein to declare this cosmological model, and especially the introduction of the cosmological constant, his “biggest blunder”.

Journal 1 Science Project 3

a. Hubble’s involvement in space research.

Edwin Hubble stated that the universe is expanding and that the further away the galaxies and the stars are, the faster they are reciding from us.

b. What the space telescope does.

The Hubble space telescope is a space telescope that was carried into earths orbit by the space shuttle in April 1990. The Hubble space telescope taught us about asteroids, meteors, planets and stars.

c. Where is it?

It is travelling around the earth about 569km up. Alsmost as big as a school bus, and weighing 14 500 pounds, the telescope travels around the earth at 5 miles per second.

d. What Hubble’s constant is.

Hubble’s initial value for the expansion rate, now called Hubble’s constant, was approximately 500km/s Mpc or about 160km/second per million- light years.
